How to Wear and Care for Men’s Skinny Jeans
Skinny jeans, if you wear them well, can look absolutely stunning. Of course, not every man out there has the right figure for skinny jeans, but if you do, may as well flaunt it, right? This week’s Dapperfied.com article will share a few tips with you on wearing and caring for skinny jeans, just so you can look brilliant in them.
Let’s start with a few tips on wearing men’s skinny jeans:
- Firstly, do not opt for spray-on skinny jeans unless you absolutely believe that you have the body for them. In fact, even if you do believe that you have the body for them, do not go out wearing them before somebody has checked you over and given you the OK. The last thing you want is to be subject to a bit of ridicule. Spray on jeans will easily show if your body is not proportioned properly or even if you are slightly overweight, and you do not want that!
- Do not go for extravagant colors of skinny jeans unless you absolutely have to. Stick to colors such as black, grey, and navy blue. They tend to go well with everything and they never look too overboard. Some people may also want to throw a pair of white skinny jeans into their wardrobe, but it is unlikely you will be wearing those too often.
- When you purchase skinny jeans, make sure you try them out. Have a bend over in them, move around in them, button them up, decide if they are comfortable. Skinny jeans, if ill fitting, will not only look hideous, but you will feel horrendous walking around in them. Never buy jeans by ‘look’ alone. You need to get to know those jeans before you throw cash down on them.
Men’s Skinny Jeans: Let’s round this off with a couple of tips for looking after them, shall we?
- If you are rocking raw denim jeans, and you most likely are, you do not actually need to clean them at all, not unless it is absolutely necessary. You certainly should not clean them within four months of purchase, and after that, just clean them sparingly. They will last a whole lot longer. If you wash them too often, they will lose that crisp feel and just become too soft. The only time you will really need to wash them is if they are stained or they start smelling, although, the latter is unlikely to happen all that often, jeans are great at combatting bacteria.
- When you do wash your jeans, if you can, try to air dry them. If that is not a possibility, you can toss them into the dryer on the lowest setting possible. High temperatures will shrink jeans, so you absolutely must avoid that. If you have a decent pair of skinny jeans, you can always take them to your local dry cleaner. They will actually get it right for you.
- Use a soft brush to clean your jeans from time to time. This will get rid of most of the dirt and grime without destroying the jeans.
