Men’s Fashion Shoes: Tips On Choosing the Right Ones for You
You know, there are a TON of men out there who don’t put any sort of real effort into choosing the right shoes. They see something they like, whip out their cash, and they are done with it. These are the very same chaps who will, later on, be complaining that their somewhat new men’s fashion shoes do not fit at all. We have put this little article together to help our fellow brethren that identify with this scenario! We are going to run you through five tips on choosing the right men’s fashion shoes. Ready for it? Let’s go!
Men’s Shoe Fashion Tips…Just for you!
- First and foremost, you are going to want to focus on the fit of your shoes. This is vital. Just because you are a particular size in one shoe does not necessarily mean that you are going to be the same size in another shoe. Sizing can be different so please keep this in mind. Make sure that they are comfortable. Have a walk around in them. Another tip: Don’t forget to wear socks when you try them on! Not only for hygiene issues, but to make sure that they still fit while you are wearing your normal socks.
- Shoes that fit well should have about half an inch of space at the end. This means between the end of the longest toe and the tip of the shoe. This space is important because if there is not enough space, your foot will be unable to slide slightly forward as you walk. This can, eventually, be very painful. Many people try to ensure that there is no space at the end – the poor souls. This will most probably result in “shoe hate” in the long run which is quite unfair the humble shoe we think! 🙂
- Shoes should not really have to be broken in. This is often a common misconception. They should fit perfectly right from the get go. If they do not fit snugly or that heel is moving up and down, these are not the right shoes for you. Again, using these shoes will, most likely, end up causing you a fair amount of pain….you have been forewarned.
- Make sure you choose the right pair of shoes for the occasion. Obviously, men’s fashion shoes which are designed for work are going to be different to sport shoes or men’s fashion shoes for formal events. Hopefully, this is something that you already understand, but it is still worth considering when you go out and buy those shoes…many people don’t! Try to think about the type of clothing that you will be wearing with your pair of shoes too. If you are looking for men’s shoes to add to your wardrobe that you can pair with a number of different outfits, try go for a generic colour. I suggest you opt for blue or black, these colours tend to work pretty well and blend quite nicely with different shades of shirts and pants.
- Sometimes you may not need to go up a shoe size, even if the shoe does not fit all that well. If the bottom of your foot feels compressed but the rest is fine, ask if the shoe is available in a wider fit. This will often work better for you. Just going up a size, normally half a size, will not work and could result in you picking shoes that are a wee bit too big for you.
