Men’s Designer Jeans: What You Need to Know!

By  |

Men’s designer jeans are, simply, jeans designed by one of the large fashion houses out there. Now, contrary to popular belief, these jeans are, quite often, not designed by the designer on the label. They would have been in the past, but as the company started to produce more products, they would have needed to hire a number of different designers. It is, however, likely that the final design of the jeans will have been approved by the brand name designer at the company. Today, we are going to take a little look at how you can choose the perfect pair of men’s designer jeans.

  1. If a price seems too good to be true, it most likely is. One of the things which makes men’s designer jeans, “designer jeans” is the fact that they are exclusive. In order to be exclusive, they need to come in at a high price point. This high price point also covers the quality of the jeans. If something is too cheap, it is likely that the jeans are fake. Designer companies are very selective about who they sell their products to, after all.
  2. When you are purchasing men’s designer jeans and do not have a lot of money to spend, you do not want to go too crazy with your colour selection. Red jeans may look stunning, but they are not going to be ideal for situations where you need to be a bit more formal. Instead, you are going to want to fill your wardrobe up with some designer jeans that can fit any outfit. Dark blue and black are good here. Light blue jeans may be a bit too much for formal occasions.
  3. Do not become too overwhelmed with all of the different ‘cuts’ of jeans out there. Many designers seem to make up their own words for even the most basic of designs. All you really need to be on the lookout for is ‘straight leg’, ‘boot cut’ or “skinny“. All are good cuts and should fit well.
  4. If you can, try on the jeans before you commit to a purchase. Sizes are not standardized with any form of clothing, especially jeans. You want to choose something which is perfect for you. You will want to ensure that the jeans are not too tight around your waist, and certainly on your crotch (ouch! imagine that!). Remember, jeans do shrink over time, even after a couple of wears, so you will want to choose something slightly bigger than you would be wearing normally. You can, of course, purchase ‘pre-shrunk’ jeans but these cost a little bit more.
  5. Have a flick through fashion magazines to get an idea as to what the latest trends in the world of jeans are. If you do not want to stick to the latest trends, you could probably save a bit of cash on ‘old stock’ – to be honest though, this wouldn’t be all that bad an idea since it would be hard to tell the difference anyway.

Do you have any tips that you can share for when it comes to purchasing men’s designer jeans?
