Choosing Men’s Designer Jackets: The Scoop!
So…what are men’s DESIGNER jackets you ask….
Designer jackets are, quite simply, jackets designed by a top fashion house. And, you guessed it – they quite often have the name of a ‘big designer’ attached to them. However, most men’s designer jackets will not be personally designed by the designer in question (unless you are spending a rather hefty chunk of change on them). They will, most likely, be designed to the specification of that designer however, so you can of course, look forward to something which is incredibly high in quality.
Let us, briefly, run you through a few tips for choosing the perfect men’s designer jacket.
- Always, always, ALWAYS, make sure that you are purchasing men’s designer jackets from a reputable retailer. As you can probably guess, the fashion industry is absolutely swarming with low quality ‘knock offs’ of men’s designer jackets. They may be cheap, but they are not going to last you at all. You need to steer well clear. Here’s a spot for you to check out if you’re looking to buy a jacket – be sure to read through the reviews before you buy!
- Think about the situations that you are going to be wearing your men’s designer jacket in. For example, if you are going to go out in hot weather you will, most likely, need a designer jacket which is light in terms of fabric e.g. a denim jacket tends to be fairly lightweight, although still a touch too hot. On the other hand, a leather jacket might work best in the evening or at a time when the weather is a little cooler – that is if you don’t want to boil! 🙂
- Think about the style of men’s designer jacket you wish to purchase. Are you more of a leather jacket man than somebody who loves to wear bomber jackets? Do you want a parka or a raincoat? You have all of these decisions to make! Obviously, you know yourself better than we know you, so it is up to you to make the decision here. Do not worry though, whatever you choose, as long as you stick to your personal style sense, any style decision you make will work!
- Think about whether the designer jacket is going to work with other items of clothing in your wardrobe. For example, if you are going to be wearing denim a lot, you are going to want to pick a fabric for your jacket other than denim. It takes a bit of an eye for detail to pair denim and denim. One type of jacket which we find works drastically well with most items of clothing is the ‘blazer’. You should look to purchase this in a neutral colour for the best effect.
- Think about the material that you wish for your men’s designer jacket to be constructed from. Leather tends to be fairly durable but somewhat expensive. If you want something soft, wool is a good way to go, however, it can too be expensive. If you can’t afford a wool jacket, you may want to go down the route of fleece. It feels just as nice, however, it is completely synthetic and this results in a lighter construction, perfect for those who still want to look great wearing something akin to wool, even if the weather is very hot.
And there you have them – our tips just for you!
