Men’s Business Fashion: 8 Things to Keep in Mind When Dressing for the Office
Dressing well for the office is absolutely vital. Not only do you want to give off the right impression to your employer and colleagues, but you also want to show your clients and customers that you mean business. Today, we are going to share with you eight men’s business fashion tips which should, hopefully, ensure you look perfect.
Men’s business fashion tips for the rising star!
- Consider the office you are dressing up for. Some offices out there have their employees dress in casual clothing, other’s prefer a more corporate look. You, obviously, want to ensure that you choose the right look for the environment you work in – if you can add a subtle bit of “you” to your outfit without being too over the top, go for it! You’ll look good and make a statement!
- If you are going to be purchasing just one suit for the office, make it a Navy blue suit. It looks great, it is available in a huge range of styles, and it will even make your figure appear to be slimmer. If you’re looking for some, you can find good suits here at pretty decent prices.
- The hallmark of a good outfit for more formal offices is your shirt. You want something which goes well with your suits. We suggest that you opt for a spread collar, they tend to look decent and they go with just about everything. Purchase a few of them as you will need them to get through the week!
- Your tie also needs to be thought about. Obviously, you do not want to go for anything too crazy in the office. We suggest a good tie with a ‘knit’ pattern on it. It just works well. It also has a hint of casual about it, so you could even wear it outside of the office environment!
- Men’s business fashion is all about those accessories so do make sure that you pay special attention to the bag that you are going to have in tow. Ditch the old briefcase. You do not need that. Instead, opt for one of those softer bags. They look a whole lot sleeker and will really help to spruce up your overall look.
- If you need a pocket square, learn how to fold it correctly. They can, of course, look great when you are building up your men’s business fashion collection, but if you fold that square wrong, you will be surprised at how something so simple can completely destroy your look.
- If you are going to need to travel a lot to and from work, do not go for an expensive suit. Instead, find a good travel suit (i.e. a cheaper suit which has a bit of function). It saves your top quality suit from getting creased on the way into work, but you still end up looking rather dapper.
- Choose comfortable shoes! Seriously! You are going to be walking around the office a lot. If you choose a pair of shoes by look alone, you are going to end up with blisters by the end of the day. Choose a good pair of dress shoes with rubber soles at the very minimum, you will thank us for that tip.
