Hairstyles for Men: Let’s Discuss!
You know, as a man, choosing the perfect hairstyle can sometimes feel quite challenging. There is so much to think about – length, style, colour…brain mash! Today, we are going to discuss, just a little, about hairstyles for men and choosing the right hairstyle for you. We are going to do this by discussing how various hairstyles and face shapes work well in tangent with one another.
Hairstyles for Men: Face Shapes
Round faces
Men with round faces tend to work well with square hairstyles. Here, you are going to want to try and keep the sides short, and that means no ‘over the top’ sideburns. Try to add height to your hair too. A small amount of hair wax will go a long way towards adding fullness to your hair whilst ensuring that your face does not look overly round. An off-center part will help to break up your features somewhat.
Square faces
If you have a ‘square’ face, you are going to want to try and keep your hair short and tight. Do not let your hair get too long, it will work against you. A short hairstyle will enable the features of your face to ‘pop’ out. Basically, it is going to highlight your bone structure. You can add a touch of volume to your hair, but not too much. Remember; the whole purpose of this style is to keep it tight!
Oblong
If you have an ‘oblong’ face, then opt for a fairly symmetrical haircut. Basically, you want the hair cut to be exactly the same length on each side. You can have a slightly off-center parting, but you do not want to get too crazy here. Medium-length hairstyles work best on those who have an oblong face.
Diamond
If you have a diamond-shape face, then you are going to want to opt for a layered haircut. Many men with this face shape tend to find that swept bangs work well for them. Either way, you are going to want to keep as much volume on the top of your head as possible. Short or unkempt haircuts never work particularly well here.
Triangular face
This is, sadly, one of the most difficult face shapes to work with. Swept bangs tends to be one of the only things that work. You do not want your hair to be overly long here. For an example of a style which really works well for those with triangular faces, take a peek at the hairstyle that Billie Joe Armstrong rocked during his American Idiot days.
Oval Faces
If you have an oval face, you are one of the luckiest men out there! Seriously! Just about any style is going to work wonders on you because you have a symmetrical face. The only thing that may not be brilliant on you are bangs, so, if you can avoid them – please do!
Honestly; when it comes to choosing the right hairstyles for men, the real difficulty you are going to have is working out what face shape you are. Once you have that sorted – you’re on your way to picking an appropriate hairstyle that suits you well and finding some good hair product to perfect your look – you can find that here when you’re ready!
